Saratoga Race Course is a famous horseracing track located in Saratoga Springs, NY. It opened on August 3, 1863, and is the oldest organized sporting venue of any kind in the United States.

2010 is the 142nd season at Saratoga Race Course and, to celebrate, the New York Racing Association (NYRA) will offer free admission to the grandstand on Opening Day. NYRA President and CEO Charles Hayward, said the free admission on Friday, July 23 is being offered, “As a thank you to our terrific customers. This will be a great way to start the Saratoga meet, which promises to be one of the best yet.”
As the gates open at Saratoga Race Course for the 142nd time, 2010’s Opening Weekend promises to be an exciting one with the Grade III, $100,000 Schuylerville for 2-year-old fillies on Friday, the Grade I, $250,000 American Oaks for 3-year-old fillies on Saturday, the Grade II, $150,000 Sanford for 2-year-olds on Sunday and the $75,000 Evan Shipman for New York-breeds on Monday.
